I have filed a bug for this :
https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+sour ... ug/1529425

Basically, I used to be able to use SMTube and uget to record YouTube videos.

Now, I always get the "No Video Found" window, with "It wasn't possible to find the URL for this video" text.

I tried the same thing with wget, with the same result.

The bug report has all the particulars, along with screenshots and text files.

I just wondered if anyone here had had the same problem (and hopefully had solved it).

From time to time youtube makes changes and both smplayer and smtube fail to get the correct URL for the video. So it's highly recommended to use the very latest versions. Version 15.5 is old and the code to unencrypt the youtube signatures doesn't work anymore. It may work to "update the youtube code" in the Help menu. If it still doesn't work try deleting the file sig.ini in the smtube configuration folder (~/.config/smtube).

That did not do it.
I did add the smplayer repository to my Synaptic list and updated the packages.
THAT did it.
Thank you.
