I see.
I think mplayer2 is not developed anymore, so it's unlikely that this bug is going to be fixed.

I don't know. Maybe.
There's another mplayer fork, called mpv, which I think has all this problems fixed and it's under active development. However they changed so many things that it's incompatible with SMPlayer. Maybe it would be possible to add support for it, but it would be hard.
