Playlist autoplay

Postby Demontager » Sat Oct 19, 2013 5:46 pm

I can't really understand why files in playlist not played automatically. I mean when current file ended it don't go to another i need choose it manually. I tried this on Youtube links in playlist.
BTW: Why not to implement add quick to playlist for Youtube videos ? Now i do lise so - First copy link in youtube browser than in Smplayer window press playlist button then "plus" button then add url, then paste it in, too many action through.

It does. Are you using mplayer2? That problem happens with the mplayer2 version in ubuntu because of a bug in mplayer2.

This checked un Smplayer on Lubuntu 13.10
Code: Select all
Version: 0.8.6
Using Qt 4.8.4 (compiled with Qt 4.8.4)
Using MPlayer2 UNKNOWN

Mplayer installed with system out of box, but don't show real version
Code: Select all
~$ mplayer
MPlayer2 UNKNOWN (C) 2000-2012 MPlayer Team

That's mplayer2, and the version in ubuntu 13.10 has an important bug, it doesn't quit after playing a file, that prevents smplayer to go to the next file in the playlist just because mplayer2 is still running.

Install mplayer instead:
sudo apt-get install mplayer

I don't know. The bug is already reported here: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+sour ... ug/1191259

I'm using a newer version of mplayer2 (compiled from sources) and it doesn't have this issue, so I guess the problem will be fixed in ubuntu when they update their version of mplayer2.

Ok, that not big deal and will be fixed.
And what about quick add feature from YouTube browser ? i don't ask to do it for me personally, but think lot of people want it as well. I just put my vote for it.

UPD: Reported too https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+sour ... mments=all

I think it's a good idea. I'll try to add an option for that.

Great, I recorded video to clear what i meant http://nixtalks.net/out.ogv (Loaded to my website, because YouTube lagging)
Down below on YouTube browser there is space to add such "add to playlist" button, or in context menu when pressed right mouse, or even both.
