Customized Toolbars Size

Up to smplayer 16.4.0.0, I was able to customize my interface like this

Ever since, the same preference adjustments render this

Can I get this back to the way I originally had it? Or, at least shrink these huge toolbar dimensions?

Go to preferences -> interface -> High DPI and turn off support for high DPI screens.

If that option is disabled then high DPI isn't the problem.

Try this: menu Options -> Toolbars -> Edit main toolbar. You can change the size of the toolbar icons at the bottom of the window.

The interface is not meant to be that big as your screenshots show.
This is how version 16.8 looks on my computer:

I first thought that it was caused by the HDPI support but since that option is disabled for you, I'm confused. Anyway if you have the file ~/.config/smplayer/hdpi.ini, delete it.

I think you should have mentioned that you were using SMPlayer portable and Windows 10 in the first place. I thought you were using Linux because the high DPI option was disabled.

The portable version doesn't allow to change the high DPI settings. Please try the normal version, and disable the high DPI support in preferences -> interface.
