Encoding issues in SMPlayer title

Postby Mel_C » Wed Mar 08, 2017 3:13 pm

SMPLayer has some kind of encoding issues so Cyrillic characters are displayed as some garbage in window title(please refer to attached screenshot for details)
Tested VLC, MPC-BE - no such issue found.
On this example SMPlayer sees this meta data as: ॢ 3.2015.Rip by: ollan

It's sad to see, that so obvious and annoying issue is being ignored

It's not ignored and I'm aware of the problem. But it's an issue that it's not easy to fix.

If you're using mplayer as multimedia engine (preferences -> general), change it to mpv and see if that makes any difference.
