Problems with MVP and sound option

Hello,
I tried the newer versions of SMPlayer, recently, and, I got 2 problems with that
1. I cannot set mpv in settings. I choose "mpv" in general tab, but whenever I do this I get an error each startup, like "something went wrong", so I have to switch back to mplayer.
On SMP installation I tried to upgrade from older versions, then to change installation settings, then I uninstalled SMP once and installed it from the beginning. Same error all the time.
Also, SMP versions from 15 seemed to support mpv, but, I couldn't find the mpv.exe in SMP program filed folder. I tried to search forum on how to install mpv to make it work properly but didn't find any info or FAQ on that. So I tried to download mpv manually and show the path to downloaded file, but it didn't work either. This was done with versions 15 and 16 cause they didn't have option to switch between mplayer & mpv.
2. The sound card shows strange characters, in menu (that happens with all player versions, including old). I made a screenshot, here
http://prnt.sc/eraztl

Any ideas how to fix those?
I run Windows 7 64bit

Thanks!

I'm guessing that the problem may be that you're using dsound as audio output, however it seems mpv removed support for it. So go to preferences -> general -> audio and select "default" as output.

Thanks for reply,

I tried as you suggested but it didn't fix the problem. Actually, when I select mpv, all the sound options I get are these

http://prnt.sc/erhyve

First is "default", and others are something I have no idea what
No SoundBlaster or other devices I have in my system are shown
And whichtever option I choose, with mpv selected, SMPlayer still crashes with error, on startup.

Also, you have any idea of those strange characters, I mentioned in my first post? I didn't have them on Win XP, but recently I migrated to Win 7 and got them in SMPlayer, though system settings seem to be same.
Is it a known error?

Thanks!

Can you send the error message from startup?

It says "oops, something went wrong",
Mplayer/mpv has finished unexpectedly, error code 1

End of error message says

Driver 'gl' has been replaced with 'opengl'!
Option vo: this option does not accept sub-options.
Sub-options for --vo and --ao were removed from mpv in release 0.23.0.
See https://0x0.st/uM for details.
Error parsing option vo (option could not be parsed)
Setting command line option '--vo=gl:yuv=2:force-pbo:ati-hack,' failed.
Exiting... (Fatal error)

Select in preferences -> general -> video the default (or opengl) output.
