YouTube playback interruptions

I will describe two separate but related issues.

1. In recent versions the player sometimes stops with about half a minute of video unplayed. This problem is new and didn't happen before. It occurs on most videos. I can reconnect, seek to the end and finish watching the video.

Logs showing the problem:

2. If there is a network error (usually somewhere in YouTube's domain), and the stream stops playing, the player will stop completely and show time 0:00. Also, if I press pause, and wait more than 20-30 seconds, the connection will time out, and the player will be fully stopped. If I haven't been paying attention to the time, then I cannot tell where exactly playback was interrupted to continue wаtching. Maybe it is possible to stop in such a manner that the time code is still displayed.

Does it happen as well if you select "mpv" as multimedia engine in preferences -> general?

MPV works much better! :) It plays all videos until the end and reestablishes connection, if needed, in the background, and I usually don't see a pause. It also does not replay the audio buffer as it's closing, unlike MPlayer, which was irritating since people today add sound up to the last frame as if they produced an advertisement.

I used MPV 0.11.0-git-f8c5743 from SMPlayer 17.2, because the latest one doesn't run on WinXP.
