Opening Avisynth scripts without locking them?

Opening Avisynth scripts without locking them? Is it possible or could it be implemented in the future? Please.

I often use a player to preview AVS scripts before encoding, but if the player locks the script while it's open it's not possible to edit it and save the changes without first closing the player.

A related question.... is there a keyboard shortcut for re-opening the current video I'm too silly to find? I'm trying to retain my current script previewing method, which lets me edit scripts while they're playing and for MPC-HC, Ctrl+E reloads the video after saving the changes. Is there an SMPlayer equivalent?
