[Feature Request] -audiofile command-line parameter

Postby Changeling » Sat Sep 17, 2016 3:39 am

Hello,

The addition of the ability to play separate audio and video streams specified from the command line when launching would be a wonderful addition. This would be the equivalent of the
Code: Select all
-audiofile <FILE>
parameter from mplayer.

A second expansion to that, however, would be even more appreciated. The ability to stream audio from a URL (such as http://example.org/audiofile.mka) that is specified from the command line would also be greatly appreciated.

Example:
The following command would buffer and play a video and audio stream simultaneously
Code: Select all
smplayer http://example.org/path/to/video.mkv -audiofile http://example.org/path/to/audio.mka

These are useful for situations such as where video and audio tracks are streamed from different locations. (Such as can be the case for YouTube DASH)

Thank you for reading,
Alex

Aloha

To play separated audio file you can use Sound->Load external file. If you want mix files with urls, give a try to my patch.
