mpv is written in lower case in their website so I prefer to write it that way.

youtube-dl is also written this way in their website

Ok but then the other way around:

YouTube-DL > youtube-dl
MPV > mpv

YouTube-DL was not successfully installed. Retry?
Failed to download Youtube-DL: '$R0'.

Backing up MPV...
Restoring MPV from previous installation...
Downloading MPV...
MPV was not successfully installed. Retry?

In the package manager for Debian at least mpv is written with might letters, so change:
complete front-end for MPlayer, MPlayer2 and MPV
to:
complete front-end for MPlayer, MPlayer2 and mpv

In the Debian package manager description the description is:
Qt4 Mplayer front-end, with basic features like playing
videos, DVDs, and VCDs to more advanced features like support
for MPlayer filters and more. One of the most interesting features
of SMPlayer: it remembers the settings of all files you play.
So you start to watch a movie but you have to leave... don't
worry, when you open that movie again it will resume at the same
point you left it, and with the same settings: audio track,
subtitles, volume...

It seem all the other software i translate starts with "[name of program] is a multimedia player that..." or something like that.
So maybe better to starter with "SMPlayer is a media player front-end..." or something like that.

Maybe remove the part about Qt4 and update infomation about MPlayer (Mplayer should be MPlayer right) now that mpv can be used.

The description in the debian package is up to the debian maintainer. I didn't write it, I can't change it.

In a lot of strings "interface" and "user interface" are used but it seems not consistently.

Some places it might say: "SMPlayer is a graphical user interface".
Other places: "SMPlayer: a graphical interface". (without "user").

Could we get this corrected so it says the same thing consistently.
It will help me translate.

The word front-end/frontend is not written consistently (with/without "-").
Seems SMPlayer uses with "-" and the website uses without "-".
I'm not sure which one is the correct, maybe the one with "-" (front-end).

Code: Select all
A great MPlayer front-end

SMPlayer is a complete front-end for MPlayer, from basic features like playing videos, DVDs, VCDs to more advanced features like support for MPlayer filters, edl lists, and more.

Frontend for MPlayer

MPlayer frontend for Windows and Linux

MPlayer frontend for Windows and Linux with many additional features like the possibility play Youtube videos.

Maybe front-end/frontend could be replaced with "interface" or "user interface" if that is better.

Yes, you're right.

If I have time I'll try to fix them.
