[HELP] How to Reset SMPLAYER settings?

Postby wakkawalla » Tue Sep 21, 2010 1:20 pm

Hi.

Today, i was playing around with SMPLAYER 0.6.9 SVN r3584.
I played a real video, went into 'VIEW INFO & PROPERTIES', into the 'DEMUXER' tab.
I then changed from 'REAL' to 'MKV' (trying to see what happens, yes nothing good...)
So, I decided to change it back, back to 'REAL'.
However, the time line keeps jumping from start to current position.
Also, current time of video, keeps jumping from '-1' to some random numbers.
Capture.jpg
'-1' in the time, and timeline

I have tried with various other RealVideo (RM, RMVB), however still no lucK!

My first diagnostic test, was to try it on another player, it worked! (RealPlayer, WMP12 w/ RealAlt.)
So, I thought re-installing may reset this problem, however no luck.
Unluckly, I noticed a 'RESET' button... I tried, however once again to disappoint meself, it FAILED.
Therefore, I thought i must delete the settings, or preferences file, however I had no luck in finding it...
Would there be a soul, to guide me to find it? or supply me with a superior solution?
Hope to hear back soon!

Go to Preferences -> General and uncheck the option "remember settings for all files" and play the file again. This way the settings for that file will be forgotten.

Or another possibility, delete the smplayer.ini file in the smplayer configuration folder (this will delete all your preferences).

Tried that just now. However, it does not work.

Umm, I do not know where the 'smplayer.ini' is located! It would be great if you could point me to it.

It depends on the OS you're using. On Windows XP it is in C:\Documents and Settings\your_username\.smplayer

i totally agree with this one. I mean to start fresh would be a really good idea. But anyways, all the ideas in here have all been really helpful.
