is there a version of smtube i saw a thread on smplayer from '14 but that thread looks dead for android /chromebook/book

No, there isn't. Although maybe it would be easy to implement.

ok i guess smplayer not available also, and just use youtube app to watch things on you tube?

any suggestions what works best to watch you tube on android besides the youtube app/least amount ads ?
