Something similar happens with the "Enter URL" dialog. The URL list can't be deleted. For privacy reasons, it would be great it it could be possible.
I think that if the list could be deleted when clicking in "Recent files -> Clear", it would be an intuitive option.

Am I correct that the addition to SMPlayer.ini file of "save_dirs=" setting, must be MANUALLY set to False? AFAICT, there's no UI pref setting for this, even in latest unstable SMPlayer versions.

Since there's no real help file & not sure if this was documented, wonder how many know about it?
