Upload a sample. Or at least what codecs are affected (can be seen in a verbose log).

Postby m4rkus » Mon Jan 28, 2013 4:30 pm

hello redxii
i deleted the last post because the problem with the sound wasn't from my computer after all
i downloaded the second season of spartacus (vengeance) and the sound is weaker on all episodes ( all ten)
i have on my HDD the first season of suits and the sound is normal
here is the log for suits
maybe you can find the problem
i'm using the latest smplayer-0.8.3.5117-win32

I can't hear any difference in volume between r35425 and the latest mplayer, using the same "spartacus.vengeance.s02e10.bdrip.xvid-demand.avi". I only downloaded the first 30MB, I only get 20GB a month in data allowance.

Postby m4rkus » Mon Feb 11, 2013 5:40 pm

thank you for replying redxii
indeed there is no problem in r35425 with the sound
but if you remember there was a mp4 rewind problem which was fixed in r35710
and from r35710 i get weaker sound on every version ( including 35710)
i just reinstalled my windows and i know for sure that the problem is not from my windows

i don't know what you've changed
but using the latest mplayer2 build ( mplayer2-i686-2013-02-08) the sound problem is gone

I didn't really do anything, but FFMpeg in MPlayer and Libav in MPlayer2 do most of the work and the FFmpeg devs, unlike Libav, are always reinventing the wheel every week and having to fix bugs as a result.
