BUG : subtitle artefacts

Hi,

first of all, I really love SMPlayer for many reasons. It's a very good replacer of MPC-HC on Windows, with many options and works great with Alsa ! The video equalizer is a must have to me, and it works perfectly ! Thanks to you dev !!

I'm using it with MPlayer. Here are some versions : SMPlayer 17.8.0 rev8621 (last one on my distrib), Qt 4.8.7, MPlayer SVN r0. Linux Mint 18.2 Cinnamon 3.4.6

Problem : I've some artefacts at the right of the subtitle with embedded sub, but works great with .srt file. Here some example :

Any idea to solve that ?

Does it make a difference if you select another video output? (Preferences -> General -> Video)

Yes it does. I switched from "xv" to "gl". The artefacts are gone and the video equalizer seems to be working as it did with "xv" (unlike with vdpau, the gamme correction doesn't work).

I've a lot of video output choices, which one is recommended ?

So far the problem is fixed, thanks a lot
