Creating thumbnails

I've tried to create thumbnails, but the sheet that is produced seems to show thumbnails that are the same.
Seconds to skip at the beginning 30s (10 columns 8 rows).

What am I doing wrong?

I don't know, it's strange. Try changing the "multimedia engine" in preferences -> general and check if it's still happening.

Maybe it's because of the short duration of the video. I'll see if there's a way to fix it.

Using a Firefox add-on (downloadhelper) I downloaded the mp4 file from:



and tried to create thumbnails from that file.

Anyway, hopefully you will be able to find a solution.

Set "seconds to skip at the beginning" to 0.

Sorry, I am afraid it does not make any difference: results are identical.
However, I tested it on another video and it went fine there.

So probably it has something to do with the video, or so.

Forget it.

Not worth spending much time on.
It was, coincidentally, the very first video ever I tried to generate thumbnails from.
Bad luck I took this one..

I've just increased the precision (version 8758). This is the result now with the same options you used:

This creates 80 pictures from just 8 seconds, so a lot of pictures are very similar.

Thanks. I am running a x64 version of SMPlayer, so I'll have to wait until smplayer-17.10.2.8758-x64.exe is released.
Version 17.10.2.8735 x64 still show same thumbnails.

I have been using other players in the past, like VLC, MPC-HC, PotPlayer, KMPlayer and even PowerDVD Ultra (paid version).
SMPlayer outperforms them all.
Am really happy with it!
