Please excuse me if this has been answered, I just cant seem to find a soulution. I have ubuntu 17.10 dual screen. Desktop is set to extend the display onto my second monitor.

When i open Smplayer. I get the standard display window with controls, but the video will open full screen on my main screen display. There are no controls in there that I can find. I cant get it out of full screen mode. I can control the video with the smplayer window.

In checking the forums I found the setting "Run Mplayer/mpv in its own window" But that is not checked off. My monitor aspect ratio is auto. In my video settings "Start video in full screen" is not checked off.

Thanks! that worked. I had to go down the list but finally got it to work under x11. I also had to change the aspect ratio to 16:10 to get it right. But its working now.

Thanks.
