ps: ok please forget that. i found an article that decrips how to checkout the sourcefiles from a subversion repository. a little bit complicated HowTo to get an actual winversion compiled. to difficult for me at the moment. so i have to wait until the binaries are ready compiled to download from an official site...

0.8.4 will be the next version.

The version 0.8.3, and even the last beta does not decode very well an Romanian subtitle, with vlc player everything is running good. I made all the setting for Slavic Central European, but in van. Why this behavior? This is the movie Playing.for.Keeps.2012.BDRip.XviD-SPARKS, I will attach the subtitle, and if you make the setting to see the subtitle for the Slavic Central European(Eastern European) and at the minute 48'02" you will see what is the problem. You could try the subtitle on other movie, doesn't matter at the minte 48'02'' you will see the issue, please fix this till 0.8.4 will be released. I love the Smplayer more then Vlc, but with this issue I can't watch my movie in this condition.

The subtitles are in utf-8. If you set the encoding to utf-8 I think they display correctly:
