What are qt_*.qm files for ?

What are the qt_*.qm files for in the translations folder ?
And from what file do i create it ?

There is a button name i would like to change but i don't see it in smplayer_da.qm file so im guessing its in qt_da.qm.

Also i cant find information about making the translation files from the transifex files and testing it in SMPlayer. Are there made any instructions for this ?

Those are the translations for the texts in the Qt library. These texts shouldn't be translated because Qt already has its own translation teams. However some of the smplayer translators insisted to include those qt_*.qm files because the translations provided by Qt had many missing translations.

The ts files for the Qt translations are in the Qt sources. I've just found them here:

You can download the transifex translation in ts format. You can open the ts file in Qt Linguist and save it as qm. Then copy the qm to the smplayer "translations" folder and it will be used by smplayer.

I only know that because i read how to do it while translating other media players.

If it does not exists yet i would like a guide on how to do it. It can be here in the forum.

Like a guide...

Translations are here...
You can use these programs til make these files...
Then put the files here...
the qt files are from... and used for...

Stuff like that.

I'll try to write a step-by-step guide when I had some time.

I see some strings are not translated in SMTube if i right click the search input it says "Select All" in my language.
How do i get that translated?

I have downloaded this file http://code.qt.io/cgit/qt/qttranslation ... s/qt_da.ts and saved as qt_da.qm, and the string "Select All" is translated in the file. But for some reason SMTube still show the english "Select All".

Probably the qt_da.qm in the SMPlayer package is older and doesn't have that string translated.
I'm using Qt 4.8 and the latest Qt version is 5.5 I think.

redxii built some packages with Qt 5:

Can you switch to the latest version or is that a problem?

On http://code.qt.io/cgit/qt/qttranslations.git/tree/ the oldest version i can see it 5.0

I haven't tested SMPlayer very much with Qt 5, so I prefer to use for now Qt 4 for the Windows packages.
